Upcoming Projects in Lapu-lapu City
The city is poised for significant development with the announcement of two major infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing local amenities and services.
Among the current projects in line are the Solar Water Pumping Station in Barangay Basak with a budget of ₱11.76 million. This project aims to provide a reliable backup water supply during shortages. The station is expected to be operational by the first quarter of 2025. Additionally, there is also a Multi-purpose Building in Barangay Punta Engaño. This ₱7 million project will feature a new barangay hall and a basketball gym, with completion anticipated in 2025.
Furthermore, there are also upcoming projects that are to be set like the Seawater Desalination Plant in Barangay Punta Engaño. This project aims to address the city’s water shortage which will have a capacity of 100,000 cubic meters per day. Phase one is expected to be completed soon. In addition, Seawater Desalination Facility in Olango Island is also to be made which aims to provide an additional water supply with a capacity of 500 cubic meters per day. And lastly, the National Road Concreting Project in Barangay Pusok located in Sitio Ihawan and Sewage. This aims to improve road infrastructure.
These projects are expected to significantly enhance the quality of life for Lapu-Lapu City residents and address critical water supply issues and providing new community facilities.
